Ouch!
Posted by admin at 5:49 am in General Thoughts

Ouch! The other day I tripped over some cords and landed on a chair. My back has been complaining ever since, to my utter dismay. How am I supposed to move in to my dorm room next month if this keeps up? Besides that, who’s going to do the heavy lifting at home if my back doesn’t heal up soon? I’ll tell you one thing: I’ll be visiting the chiropracter before school starts. I was planning to anyway, because I think my knee needs to be realigned.

Money Problems…
Posted by admin at 8:00 am in Friends & Family

Well, so far no word on jobs for the newlyweds. This means that money is really tight for them right now–payday loans are not an option at the moment because of the lack of income. Since money is so tight, they’ve been really scrimping to get by. At the mopment my brother-in-law might just be having a nicotene fit because he’s out of cigarettes. I keep telling him that he needs to quit–nasty habit–but I’m a little afraid for my life if I mention it now.
I wish there was some way they could get a cash advance, just to get by until they get jobs. I mean, they’re not looking to buy a house right now, just eat. They don’t need a huge loan that will require refinancing. For the moment, a house is out of the question anyway. There aren’t any for sale or rent in our area that aren’t asking astronomical figures.
Money seems to be a big problem for those two. I hope they can find a way to keep their heads above water without going into debt and having that whole issue descend on their shoulders. I wish there was some way I could help, but I need every penny as it is–you think college textbooks come cheap??

Argh
Posted by admin at 7:50 am in General Thoughts

My knee has been acting up again. Yesterday evening I straightened my leg and my knee popped. It was extremely painful, and I was praying that it wasn’t going to go back to the way it was before surgery. I took one of my leftover painkillers and tried to sleep. Luckily, when I woke up this morning, the pain was gone.
Unfortunately, my knee again popped this morning. I’ve already taken painkiller for it, but then I slammed my good knee into the table! Just my luck! Anyway, does anyone else have this sort of problem with their knees?

Possible Car
Posted by admin at 9:44 am in General Thoughts

I think I’ve found a way to get a car. I found several websites in which you can register for a car advertisement program. There are certain advertisers that will give you a free car with their ads on it. Of course, you have to pay for gas and insurance. This means that I’ve been looking aroung for a good car insurance company recently. With all the competetive prices and special introductory rates, it’s easy to get confused.
A lot of car insurance companies deliberately try to confuse you. I don’t trust those companies. The ones I trust are the ones that give me good, reliable information. I want to be able to trust my car insurance company. If I’m going to have a car, I don’t want any shady business surrounding it.
I’ve found that when a company gives me reliable information, I’m more likely to return to that company—not just with insurance, but with anything. Why should I trust a company that doesn’t value my business enough to be honest?
Anyway, so far the car is just a thought, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to check. Besides, it will give me more time to consider and even if it doesn’t work out now, I will have the knowledge for future reference.

Baby-ness
Posted by admin at 8:43 am in General Thoughts

Babies sure go through a lot of formula. And it’s not exactly cheap, either. But that’s baby for you, I suppose. I’m really going to miss her when I go to college. I love holding her.
Anyway, I’m sure you’re all getting tired of hearing about the baby. Too bad! I can write whatever I want! :P But babies just never get boring. In any case, I don’t know very many people who don’t like babies, even if they don’t want kids of their own.
Why are baby toys so expensive? It’s not as if they’re that expensive to make. It’s just because the manufacturer knows that if you have a baby, you need stuff like toys and formula and crib sheets.

Credit Card?
Posted by admin at 7:57 am in General Thoughts

My sister has a credit card. She’s absolutely terrified of going into debt. Everyone always hears about awful credit card debt on the news and on commercials, but so far my sis is safe. She’s been using her credit card wisely. She doesn’t buy what she doesn’t need, and she never makes a late payment.
I’ve received several credit card offers in the mail, but I’m pretty wary of them. I don’t have a steady income, and they word be too big a temptation. If I had a regular job, I would consider it. No matter what, I don’t want to be one of those people that pays off their credit cards with another card.
I already have a Paypal card and a debit card from my bank. If I had a credit card, I would save it for emergencies. On the other hand, it would probably help if I actually DID have one.
Anyway, the point is that credit cards are great–if you use them wisely. Using them foolishly will cost you in the long run. It’s a useful tool for many people. Of course, I suppose there’s no profit for debt consolidating companies if they advertise a debt-free, credit-card-carrying person.

School!!!
Posted by admin at 6:58 am in General Thoughts

I love my college!!!! It’s amazing! I’m absolutely thrilled to be attending next month. The city it’s in is pretty great, too. There’s a walking trail that encompasses nearly the whole city. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they don’t offer a karate class. On the other hand, they do have a Mixed Martial Arts club. Now, I don’t know much about MMA, but I think I’ll give it a shot.
The college is about 5 or 6 hours from home. I’m really hoping to get a car so that when I do go home it’s not so much strain on my family (6 hours of me driving as opposed to my dad in a car for 12 hours–6 to get me and 6 on the way home).

Jobs
Posted by admin at 6:08 pm in Friends & Family, General Thoughts

As you know, my brother-in-law and my sister are now both looking for jobs at WalMart. Since then, I have been learning a lot about job-related terms. I have to preface this by saying that I know my sister pretty well. Those two will be living paycheck to paycheck, and have no food the day or two before the next payday.
That said, I want to talk about payday loans. Before the other day, I had never heard of a payday loan. Now, however, I think it’s the perfect option for them. My brother-in-law was perusing websites the other day, looking for the best payday loan. They can be used to get through the week, or when you are having a financial emergency. Obviously you can’t buy a house with one of these loans, but they will help get that nagging bill collector off your back. For example, if your car breaks down and you can’t get it fixed because your week’s budget is too tight, you can get a payday loan.
This sounds like a great option for the newlyweds. Of course, they aren’t going to deal irresponsibly with a loan of this kind. It can be their lifeline, so they don’t want to mistreat it. The best part is, these are all strictly legal. If you’re interested in a payday loan, be responsible. You’re old enough to hold a job; use payday loans wisely. Don’t fritter them away on things you don’t really need.

My dad and I are heading out today. It’s a 5 hour drive to get to my college. I have to register and all that funs stuff. I can’t wait!!! I’m really, really, REALLY excited about it. I’ve seen pictures of the campus online, and it looks totally amazing. I can’t wait to get to see it for real! I’m going to make my dad bring his camera! :)

Job Interview
Posted by admin at 7:52 am in General Thoughts

My sister’s husband has a job interview with Walmart today. I hope he gets the job, because I could use the discount when I go college-shopping. Anyway, he’s got this interview today and she is out applying for jobs today as well. It makes me feel like a real slacker, because I’m not doing anything. I would like to have a job, but nobody’s hiring short-term these days. The concept of a summer job has all but disappeared.
